Harvesting Snowmelt Water With Swales
Swales and keylines are tried and true methods to manage water on a farm related to extreme weather events. In the last five days our temperatures have gone up almost 90 degrees which started a massive, quick snow melt. Thanks to installing our water works two summers ago we seem to be catching most of the water which would have run into the woods. Instead we are spreading it out and soaking it into the ground.
