Watercolor Poppies Drawing and Painting
In this video I will be sharing my method of drawing and painting poppies. Right now, these are covering the hillsides with beauty and color. I created and painted a couple different versions showing various angles of the poppies, including a few buds. I have chosen to use mainly primary colors and allow the red and yellow to mix together to create a beautiful hue of orange that I couldnt buy in a tube. This is primarily a wetinwet technique aside from the first layer of petals wet on dry paper. My paper today is a beautiful and thick 100 cotton paper by arches, rough 140, watercolor paper, which has A LOT of texture and absorbs a lot of the water from my brush. I would not recommend this for a beginner, as it can be a little tricky to get used to. I have provided a link below to the Arches 140, coldpressed paper, which I typically use and is of great quality. I am also helping the paint to blend by pulling the paint specifically in the petal I dab or dot in
