Reinhard Goebel: 300 Years Of J. S. Bachs Brandenburg Concertos Part 1
Reinhard Goebel presents a seminar on the genesis of the Brandenburg Concertos, their meaning and the importance of the cycle in german court culture, in diplomatic relationships and as a musical portrait of the dedicatee of these works, his Royal Highness Christian Ludwig of Brandenburg. Reinhard has performed these pieces countless times, made two reference recordings of the cycle and has an upcoming book about these works. The timing of this seminar is particularly fitting, as this month marks the 300th anniversary of the Brandenburg Concertos. Reinhard s knowledge is virtually inexhaustible and it was decided to pause after this tourdeforce presentation and continue with Part 2 of the seminar including musical examples on April 7, 2020 at 18:00 CET.
