Baby flying fox first day in care: this is Piccalilli

Piccalilli is an orphan GreyHeaded FlyingFox who was found on her dead mother in a gutter. She is an orphan GreyHeaded FlyingFox aged 10 days. She came into care last night, after being found on her dead mother in a gutter. I don t know if she s been hit by a car or come off power lines after electric shock. The member of public brought the baby to the vet but didn t bring in the mother s body. On the first day we generally check the babies over carefully to see if there is anything which has shown up. They do get checked daily, usually when they re weighed and measured or bathed, but not quite as closely as on day one, unless there is an indication that something is wrong. She will be raised by a carer till she is old enough for creche, around 3 months old.
