Hello friends and family Chag Pesach Sameach I wanted to share with you this original song that my brother Brandon and I wrote together. We started writing prior to the pandemic and finished during the lockdown period, which coincided with a rise in Asian hate, a spike in antisemitism, the invigoration of the Black Lives Matter movement after George Floyds murder, and heightened tension in the Middle East. This Passover, our song takes on a deepened meaning as we reflect on the tragic events taking place in Ukraine. This song was inspired by an adaptation of Psalm 121, which translates to I will raise my head, I will lift my eyes to the mountains (in the distance). From these words, we wrote our version of Esa Einai a call to action that inspires openmindedness, self growth, love, and compassion.
