London. M, S three women working at a table for preparing food. One cuts bread. C, U of plate of food containing horrible looking dehydrated cabbage, a slice of meat and peas. A hand appears to pour on a heap of white powder, where the mashed potato should go. The plate is replaced by another with the rehydrated food meat, peas, cabbage, potato and gravy, looking much better. M, S Christine May carves a slice of lamb and places it onto a slice of bread, to match one she has already done. She puts the plates on the table, and another girl, Marie Jamieson, takes a saucepan from the stove and pours a green liquid into a small white bowl. She takes the basin with green soup and another with a brown liquid in it, and puts them on a tray together with some biscuits. She picks up the tray and carries it into the test area where the lights are dimmed. The girls set out the food for the tasting panel, including glasses of orange juice.
