Undocumented WW2 Era Plane Crash and Miners Cabin
Little solo trip into the mountains. First stop I checked out a well preserved miner s cabin dating to the 1930s. Lots of cool artifacts in and around it including a bullet ridden Chevy 5700 truck. The mine complex that I visited operated between 1896 and 1916 and I m sure was worked sporadically since then. Gold and copper were the main commodities to come out of it. While scouring the hills looking for other holes to check out I came across a piece of metal debris with rivets and later a canonplug, tell tale signs of an aircraft crash I investigated further and found quite a bit more chunks, leading me to the believe this was a military aircraft that most likely went down during a training exercise. A later trip is in the books to check out the other nearby hills and see if I can t find more clues.
