Item title reads: Our latest 10, 000 ton Cruiser, launched by Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth, Hampshire C, U of Mayoress, Lady C. A. Batho, dressed in lovely black and white hat and fur collared coat. She is seen standing near the ship carrying a large bouquet of flowers. Helped by a man in a top hat, she crashes the bottle against the ship s hull, but it doesn t look as if it breaks. She then takes a mallet to hammer away the restraining link. The ship glides slowly down the slipway into the water, watched by the crowds and shipyard workers. M, S ship drops anchor.
