Return To The Wolves (2017) dir. Yi Feng
The life of Li Weiyi, a painter from Chinas southwestern city of Chengdu, was changed forever when she stumbled upon a wolf cub in April 2010 after overhearing that poachers had poisoned its mother while she was sketching on the Ruoergai Prairie. The cub was the only remaining from the litter, and Li took it back to the city and named it Green. A year later, after mothering the cub, she let it back out into the world. For seven years, she repeatedly headed back to the prairie, recording Greens story and eventually turning it into a documentary Return to the Wolves, which she hopes will change peoples understanding of the animal and its living conditions in the region.
