FAE Sonata a work dedicated to the violinist Joseph Joachim and based on the notes FAE, which represent his personal motto: Frei aber einsam ( free but lonely ). The first movement was composed by Albert Dietrich, the second and fourth by Robert Schumann, and the third by the young Johannes Brahms.
