A Chilean song written to mark the 30th anniversary of the USbacked military coup against democraticallyelected socialist president Salvador Allende. The 11th of September 2023 marks 50 years since the coup and the beginning of a brutal military dictatorship which would last for 17 years. Translation note: Víctor refers to Víctor Jara, a famous musician and prominent supporter of Allende s government who was targeted and killed by the military in the aftermath of the coup.
