The Triumph Of Pan By Dawnya Petrova (1930)
Dawnya and Petrova the International Dancers from the Ambassadors and other clubs and cabarets perform a dance routine called The Triumph of In the Pathe Studio the pair perform acrobatic jumps, twirls and lifts. It is a bit like an Apache dance with the woman being thrown around a bit the pursuer and the pursued. He drags her around the stage by her foot. He then swings her around by her foot. He grabs her hair. She climbs on his back then does a handstand. Unusual overhead shot of the woman being spun around as she hangs off the man s neck by her foot. Pretty wild stuff. the woman dancer has lots of bushy long blond hair pretty unusual for this era to see long hair on display. Was an item in Eve s Film Review issue number 471.
