Rabih Mroué, Kammerspiele Ode to Joy, 2015

Premiere: 10 October 2015 For the last time: 13 February 2017 Ode to Joy is a performance that presents fragmented scenes in relation to the 1972 Munich attack. It is about two uncertain personal accounts of the Palestinian revolutions; those of Rabih Mroué and Manal Khader. Rather than talking about major thresholds and events that shaped the revolution, their approach is to tackle the topic from the margin; from the peripheries. Ode to Joy is also about the process of writing the future as possible scenarios, the failure of the present in dealing with reality and the necessity of the fiction to retell the past. Between predicting the future and the reenactment of the past, Mroué and Khader will examine the use of image in wars, the role of the media and the interweaving of the fiction and the real.
