Chinas shipping giant launches new China EU land sea freight line linking Italy, Slovenia You Tube
A freight train, loaded with 32 containers, started its maiden journey on Monday from the port of Trieste in northeastern Italy marking new milestone in the expansion of the transEurasian railway network. Operated by China s COSCO SHIPPING, the freight train service is part of the ChinaEurope LandSea Express Line which combines sea and land transportation, stretching from the Greek port city of Piraeus to the hinterland of Europe. The Trieste Maritime Terminal will become a gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. Trieste is the fourth channel to be opened on the ChinaEurope LandSea Express Line in Europe, after the main channel of Piraeus Port the channel of Rijeka in Croatia, and the ValenciaMadridBilbao channel in Spain. Running 3 to 4 times a week, the new route will help to secure the global supply chain and reduce the costs and risks amid pandemic and conflicts.
