Gateway Church founder Robert Morris indicted on child sex charges
Gateway Church Founder Robert Morris was indicted on Wednesday by an Oklahoma federal grand jury on five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child. Morris is accused of abusing Cindy Clemishire in 1982 when she was 12 years old. Hes accused of abusing her while traveling in Oklahoma. There is no statute of limitations because Morris was not an Oklahoma resident at the time of the allegation. Morris served on a evangelical executive advisory board to President Trump s successful 2016 presidential campaign, and hosted Trump at Gateway Church in June 2020. Following the sex misconduct allegations, a spokesman for the Trump team stated Morris has no role in Trump s 2024 presidential campaign.
