Ivanovo Paratroopers Host Combat Sports Tournament in Kherson Region In a rear area of the Kherson region, paratroopers from the 98th Guards Airborne Division held a tournament focused on closequarters combat, continuing a tradition that has become a hallmark of their training. Initiated by an officer known as Physruk, these sparring sessions have gained popularity among troops and are regularly conducted during downtime between missions. These competitions not only enhance physical strength but also help soldiers overcome psychological barriers and boost their confidence. They significantly elevate morale and unit cohesion. Fighting is conducted under strict rules with competitors equipped in boxing gloves or special gear for handtohand combat and helmets. The objective is to grapple and unbalance opponents while strikes are limited to hands only, with kicking strictly prohibited. Prizes await the top three fighters on the podium.
