Item title reads: Beaten Only By The Cold Mrs. Corson has to give up when within 4 miles of France one of the finest channel attempts on record. Pigeons were employed to report progress. Hard Dover, Kent 22:04 M, S of Mrs. Corson being covered in grease by a man and women on a pebble beach. She has a cup of tea from flask held by helpers, then they help her put on her goggles and swimming cap. She smiles at camera. She then leans gingerly over to kiss goodbye to a man in a cap, Mr. Corson, and is helped down to the water. She walks hand in hand to the edge of the sand. She swims off followed by people in rowing boats. C, U of her swimming over arm crawl. C, U of a pigeon being released by a man in a boat, with more shots of swimming and rowboats. 01:22:04 The sequence repeats. Note: Some scratches and vertical lines on film.
