Crowds acclaim Mussolini Rome 1922. Fascisti seizure of power: March on Rome; October 30; 1922. Mussolini s paramilitary groups marched on the capital from 4 directions; before they had arrived the King; who had been going to declare a state of siege enlist the army to fight the Fascists; suddenly changed his mind. Mussolini then insisted on being named Prime Minister and on Oct. 30th the Fascists entered Rome and held a victory march. Shot from high above panning over absolutely gigantic crowd in square.
