Ethics and diversity
How can we live together peacefully while appreciating our differences Societies, time and time again, have to renew their consensual basis on a series of key ethical issues, balancing carefully different categories of rights and revisiting boundaries for societal cohabitation in the face of violent transgressions, global migration and unprecedented crises. The need to reformulate societal consensus does not arise in a neutral space but amid a series of sometimes conflicting claims based on particular worldviews or religious or secular moral positions. Our speakers Prof. Dr Dicky Sofjan from the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies (ICRS) and Dr Angelique WalkerSmith from Bread for the World will address this and other issues.
