Embarrassing: AFL Welcome to Country under fire

The AFL semifinal match between the Brisbane Lions and Greater Western Sydney Giants has gained heavy criticism over its Welcome to Country ceremony. Sky News contributor Prue MacSween called the Welcome to Country offensive and surprising. This bloke calls himself a cultural educator I think hes a cultural embarrassment, Ms MacSween told Sky News host Rita Panahi. Embarrassing to the Indigenous people he supposedly represented and of course to the rest of us. The fact that he decided BC was before Cook was a total affront to Christianity and you have to wonder now how long are we going to put up with this whole Welcome to Country concept certainly not doing anything to unify us.
