14 Days wearing Roman Armour Day 13
Today is actually day 14. However, as events proceeded, this would not be the final day of the experiment and not the final attempt at scaling the mountain. Temperatures over the last 2 days had sharply risen. Together with the enormous snowfall of the previous weeks in the mountains this made for a really dangerous avalanche situation. Actual day 13 was spent scouting out the area and being in touch with local avalanche experts. When we found a suitable approach with little risk, the weather situation was still not in our favour. over 1m of snow depth and warm weather meant that I sunk in, like into wet concrete. It was almost impossible to make any progress on the mountain and only 50 m proved to be highly exhausting for both me and the camera crew. At the end of the day we had to abandon the atempt and see that we got off the mountain again. After 4 hrs my historic equipment was drenched and my armour started to rust.
