Carnival Wales (1910 1919)
Carnival Wales. Parade is part of a festival, carnival, costume pageant; in Wales. DS looking up the street at the approaching parade; crowd on each side spilling into street a policeman; and a civilian come along and move crowd back. Soldiers ride in cars decorated w, flowers homecoming; honours; heroes. World War One. A marching band follows. Young Naval cadets boys in sailor uniforms march. Costume section: some people in traditional ethnic costumes; others dressed as clowns etc. children; and some adults a small band of ragged clowns playing musical instruments. Kid dressed as scarecrow; w, a stick through sleeves of coat. Horsedrawn wagon covered w, white cloth; w, Union Jack and Welsh flag on poles.
