Known as DDay, the mission would prove a decisive turning point in the Second World War. Live from Southsea Common in Portsmouth, Huw Edwards introduces full uninterrupted coverage of the National Commemorative Event taking place to mark the 75th anniversary. Over 300 of the last surviving DDay veterans will join the Queen and the President of the United States, together with other world leaders from the Allied Nations in Portsmouth. The commemorations will tell the remarkable story of the build up to the DDay Landings through veteran testimony, theatrical performances and musical numbers, culminating with a spectacular flypast featuring aircraft old and new, including the Red Arrows.
