Rishi Sunak made a couple of misleading claims yesterday. He claimed that he was changing the regime used to apply alcohol duty, and this wouldn t have been possible in the EU. This is a lie because the EU do not tell governments who to decide any sales taxes. He also suggested that he was making beer cheaper, but the alcohol duty is actually going up.
