Mickey Baker was a session guitarist on many 50 s early rock n roll records with the likes of Ray Charles and Dion. Then as Mickey Sylvia, wrote a 1956 hit with Love is Strange, made even bigger by The Everly Brothers. He wrote popular jazz guitar tuition books which have stayed in print for over 50 years. He moved to France and was swiftly hired by Eddie Barclay to back his stars such as Françoise Hardy, Sylvie Vartan and numerous others. Memphis Slim made his first recordings in 1940, teaming up with Big Bill Broonzy, and subsequently with multiple labels and including albums with Willie Dixon. In 1962 he moved to Paris where he played to new audiences, made many TV and film performances and was given state awards by the French government. One hundred albums are listed at his Wikipedia page
