Reel 2. The aviators are given their Â15, 000 prize money. Sir McPherson Robinson ( ) congratulates the flyers. Crowds. They are driven off in a car with police protection. Scott, Black, their wives and some dignitaries are seated around a dinner table (no commentary from here). Scott makes a telephone call with a stick type telephone. Sound from here. Three men look at map of the world with the aviators route indicated. Scott talks of the journey. They left from Mildenhall in Suffolk. He talks of bad weather conditions and difficulties encountered during the flight. It took 52 hours to fly from Mildenhall to Darwin. An unidentified man states that he was confident they would win all along.
