I have been using heart rate monitors since 1995 during my freshman year at Malone University and being coached by Jack Hazen. Jack is one of the worlds top middle to long distance running coaches and showed me the importance of how heart rate training can get you better results. My goal with these videos is to get athletes to work smarter rather that harder. Heart rate monitor training will help ensure you are not overtraining. Of course, you don t want to rely on HR monitors on a daily basis. Obviously, you want to learn to run off of feel and effort.
