Johann Sebastian Bach BWV 1033 for recorder and basso continuo
In this video we show the first movement AndantePresto of the Sonata in C major for flute or recorder and basso continuo, usually catalogued as BWV 1033. The work is usually attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, though the true authorship is questioned and some scholars hold his son Carl Philipp Emmanuel as the rightful author. Probably the sonata was served as a composition exercise for the young Carl Philipp. The work was written around 1736 and published more than a hundred years later, in 1867. This piece may be considered as a real discovery for all recorder players. This recording was taken in August 2021 at the catholic church Lenzburg, Switzerland
