Apple Growing (1940 1949)

British Instructional Films presentation. Shot of an apple tree in an orchard. Small saplings are budded. Two men work in the orchard. They cut shoots with a sharp knife, then cut slits in the trunk of the saplings and graft in the shoots. The trunk is then bound with string. Maiden trees from the nursery are dug up. Sign beside them reads: Type II Cox. They are then planted out. We see the men dig holes and plant the saplings. Wire gauze is placed around the bottom of the tree.
