Nuns At Work (1965)
Ladywell Convent, Godalming, Surrey. A group of nuns are seen at work and at prayer. They are the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood. Various shots of them working on the nunnery farm they are seen driving a tractor and milking cows. Panning shot of the dormitories of the nunnery. A young nun uses a broom to clean her room. Nice shots of the nuns sitting down to a meal together. A nun reads from the bible as they eat. Shots of two nuns using a cement mixer and shots of the nuns doing building work. They use a plank to flatten some cement. Their brand of Christianity is muscular, to an almost a masculine degree states the narrator. Printing plant is seen nun stands beside the printing press and checks the results. Nuns are seen inside a church. There are some very young girls in the church. A nun cleans an outdoor swimming pool and another cuts the grass with a pair of hand shears. Other nuns are seen fishing. One of the nuns wears sunglasses. Film ends with
