Beverly Sills Care Come per me sereno (1968)
The great American soprano in a coloratura tourdeforce that is simply amazing. Sills, famous as she was at her peak, does not, in my judgment, get all the credit she deserves as one of the most accomplished vocal technicians in the history of opera. The trills and fioratura, such as are displayed in this famous scene and aria, are stunning. Only the greatest coloraturas could match such a performance.
