Alan Turing died in 1954 at 41 years of age, just 2 years after being prosecuted by the state for being gay. But that was the tragic end of a remarkable life. Much of his work in WW2 was classified by the British government until recently. Still, he has long had a following as the conceptual parent of the computer. The Imitation Game focuses on the war years. Turing is played by Benedict Cumberbatch his closest ally, Joan Clarke, is played by Keira Knightley. The actors chatted with David Poland under
