His mother was from Clarksdale, MS and father from Texas. Johnny was steeped in the Blues from his mother and Gospel from his father, a Holiness preacher. He spent his growing up years between Mississippi and Texas absorbing music and performing at family gatherings and musical events. He developed his own sound and writes original music influenced by Country, Delta Blues, Gospel and Rock genres. He has been performing professionally for over twenty years.
