Laptop destroyed in fire hard drive still works

I found this laptop which had been destroyed by a fire in a pile of rubbish in the street. As I thought it looked quite interesting, I took it home with me, and I was amazed to find an intact 320GB hard drive behind the panel at the back After putting it into an external caddy I was able to access the data, although strangely it wouldn t boot.
