Make a Cake

I was sitting in the studio playing a beat and my 8 year old son came in the room and asked if we could make a cake (probably for my wife s birthday) but I don t remember why. I was acting silly and so i just pulled up the mic and said we can make a cake. ah a ahh a ahh a Then I put it right on the beat and I was this sounds great. That s literally how the vocal came together. The other obvious influence on the sound design is Mr Oizo s genius Flat Beat. I used a lot of sounds of vinyl needles scratching over the surface of records to make the really farty weird bass sounds. The first time i played this track I was really surprised that everyone was into the funny vibe of it right away. Random stuff sometimes is the best.
