If you ask most vibraphonists about Dave Pike, they will mostly know about his first two records, It s Time For Dave Pike, and Pike s Peak. Both of those are great records, but they don t give you the whole picture of just how great of a musician Mr. Pike was. In this video, I wanted to share with you one of my new favorite tracks of his this is a recording called Regards From Freddie Horowitz. Dave Pike lived in Germany from roughly 19681973, and during this time I formed a band with some incredible german musicians: Volker Kriegel (guitar), J. A. Rettenbacher (bass), and Peter Baumeister (drums). They recorded a number of records under the name the Dave Pike Set.
