Several shots show army cadets on horseback, riding through a snowcovered forest path at night; flares are flaming to light their way. One of the horses falls right before the camera they are all riding very fast. Various shots show the same during the day; the cadets go up and down hills covered with thick snow at a tremendous speed several of the horses slip and fall down slopes, taking their cadets with them, or leaving them stranded as they ride off.
