Glossy Ibis foraging in wet field
Ibis are longlegged birds with long, downcurved bills that they use for probing into the mud and soil of wetlands and flooded fields. Glossy Ibis tend to look dark brown or black at a distance, like this one, although in the breeding season they can also be a rich iridescent purple in certain light.
