Firing up and Running Northern Live Steam Locomotive 402, Marshall Steam Museum
DCI 4K Join the Discord The Marshall Steam Team fires up one of two live steam locos on property in preparation for the first event of the season. 402 is an Alco style 7. 5 in gauge Little Engines prototype built by Martin Lewis and Finished by Tom Marshall in 1961. After realizing his little railroad would need a second engine to keep with demand, Tom Marshall purchased the sister engine to 401 after the owners death and he and his father began to complete the half finished locomotive. Due to it coming to the property somewhat complete, it has less Stanley Steamer parts then 401 and is usually a better runner. It ran for the first time during the 1961 season and has been enthralling guests ever since. The modern version of the plans and castings can be found here: More information on the Marshall Steam Museum can be found here: Special thank
