AJPW and K1 kickboxing come together for the first of what was intended to be a series of interpromotional events taking advantage of the recent string of prowres MMA collaborations featuring some very high profile foreigners. They keep things more on the showy prowrestling side of things rather than go for a hybrid or shooteresque style. The collaboration did not last beyond the second event, as K1 founder Kazuyoshi Ishii s tax evasion arrest jail sentence brought an end to the partnership not long after the second event. 1.
