Fullerton Officer Shoots Man During Confrontation Involving Police K9
(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Fullerton, California The Fullerton Police Department released video from a May shooting by officers that left a 34yearold Hector Hernandez dead. According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers were called out for a family disturbance in the 3600 block of West Avenue on May 27 at approximately 10 p. m. after a 15yearold reported that his stepfather was intoxicated and threatening family members with a knife. Ferrell was the first to arrive on the scene, along with his K9 partner, Rotar. Three minutes later, Hernandez walked out of his front door. He is seen with his arms up as police approach him with guns drawn. He did not appear to be holding a weapon. Officers deployed a K9 unit. District Attorneys officials said Hernandez also made a stabbing motion at Ferrell before plunging a blade into the animals shoulder.
