Peacock cake topper model using gum paste
How to make a fondant, sugar paste peacock model to decorate your cakes with. In this modelling tutorial I show you how to make a beautiful little peacock bird to use on your cakes. In the video I use flower and modelling paste, which is similar to gum paste, mexican paste and sugar paste, you could also mix in some fondant to make your modelling paste go further. you could also use polymer clay, fimo or sculpey to create your model if you do not want it to be edible. You will noticed in my cake topper I use a cocktail stick to give the figure more support. If someone is going to be eating the peacock model, try to let yours set in position first so you do not need to use a cocktail stick, alternatively you could use a piece of spaghetti for support.
