The Water is wide

This delightfull folk melody from England is played on my single melody string 5 chord zither. In the 2nd verse, the variation consists in adding thirds (3 notes apart Eg. CE, which are played using the plectrum (held between the thumb and index) and the middle finger. You need a finger nail on your middle finger, which is OK with me as a use nails when playing classical guitar. You can download the original audio file of this piece on
