Alexandre Desplat has become the goto composer for Wes Anderson, and won his first Oscar for The Grand Budapest Hotel. For this 2018 Japanthemed offering, he used a lot of percussion and male choir to create a pervasive mood throughout the film. This tense potential poisoning scene is a perfect example.
