Yuwake; the Japanese method of casting molten metal into hot water. This sequence was filmed at night using a Canon 60D and a 65mm macro lens. The sound recording was via the onboard mike. This cast was of about 300 grams of molten shakudo (an alloy of copper and 3gold) and was around 1100 degrees C when the metal entered the water. The water was around 70degrees C.
