A 67yearold man was admitted to the endoscopy unit, underwent upper digestive endoscopy. the scope revealed gastric varix. the endoscopist injected varix with 5 ampoules of, amcrlylate. tips and tricks: 1 try to assess your injector when the endoscope is in the straight position i. e pointing to the pyloric region, before you retroflex the scope to the fundus especially when the diameter of your scope is small. 2 assess the distensibility of varix with the tip of your injector 3 try to inflate the stomach with a moderate amount of air or CO2 to flatten the gastric folds and better assess varix. 4 you can notice the inflation of varix with the glue by increasing the diameter of varix and changing its color. 5 you can palpate varix after injection, it gets hard, and so you are sure that your injection is successful.
