LOVE, SIDNEY: Alison 5, 16, 1983, NBC. This 198183 sitcom was about a young single mom (Swoosie Kurtz) and a lonely middleaged gay man (Tony Randall) raising a little girl together. In this 1hour episode near the end of the series, Sidney has an identity crisis when he briefly finds himself dating a woman (Martha Smith). In this dramatic clip, he tells her they can t keep seeing each other. The episode ends on an upbeat note, with Sidney, Laurie and little Patti laughing together and hugging each other on the sofa.
