Margaret Brown was born in Cincinnatti, Ohio in 1938. She grew up under challenging circumstances as her parents ran a local brother in the town and Margaret was able to see the cold, harsh realities of the real world at a young age. By the time she was in her teens, she became a number runner for a local criminal organization. Her passion for music began while running numbers for local club owners and was discovered by a talen scout one night while performing at an open mic night. Her hit single Btch Better Have My Money is loosely based on her own personal life experience and quickly became a hit single during the late 1960s.
