Japanese Town Uses Its Relief Money for Giant Squid Statue
When a town in Japan received a small financial windfall of coronavirus relief funds, it did what any of us would have done: buy a giant squid statue. The town of Noto sits on Japans central West Coast. Fishing is one of its main industries. The big squid is called Squid Station. Its 13feet high and 29feet long. It cost over 200, 000 though its a bargain at any price. Its meant to drive tourism and let people know about Notos squid fishing.
