USA: Western states may declare water shortage for first time as reserves low at Hoover Dam

The manmade reservoirs supplying the US West and Mexico with water were predicted to shrink in the next few months, according to the US Bureau of Reclamation. Recently the 10 years between 2010 and now, it s the driest 10year period on record, so there is definitely a drying trend that we observed, said Noe Santos, manager at the organisation. If the reservoir is projected to be below 1, 075 (feet) then in the next year we will have reduced deliveries to Arizona, Nevada and Mexico as well, added Santos.
